Data centers: The new physics of scale

We’ve re-engineered the fundamental fabric of compute, turning data centers into innovative, high-performance systems capable of delivering the industry-leading efficiency required for the AI era.

Breaking the physical ceiling

Shifting from custom construction to factory-led mass production.

The modular advantage

The modular advantage

Our infrastructure is composed of factory-manufactured, shippable compute modules that significantly reduce on-site deployment timelines.

Safe parallelization

Safe parallelization

We’ve decoupled the supply chain. While site work begins, we’re simultaneously building and testing complex AI clusters in a controlled factory environment to drastically accelerate time-to-market.

Ready-to-ship performance

Ready-to-ship performance

Modules arrive ready to scale—100% QA-tested, integrated with our custom TPUs, and optimized for multi-rack clusters. We’re no longer building; we’re deploying, ensuring Day-1 reliability for our most complex models.

Real-time agility

Designing data centers with maximum fungibility enables unprecedented ‘speed-to-site’.

Build-to-order compute

Our factory modules are platform-agnostic. We can configure and deploy TPU, GPU, or storage-heavy clusters in days based on real-time demand, rather than years of speculative construction.

Build-to-order compute

Location optionality

Because our modules are transportable, we have created late-point optionality. We can dispatch capacity to wherever the need is most acute—whether a massive desert training site or an "infill" on an existing campus.

Location optionality

Pioneering ‘campus-as-a-computer’

Creating a vertically integrated system that treats the entire data center campus—from power distribution to the silicon—as a single, optimized engine for intelligence and redefines architectural density and scale.

Unified mega-scale fabric

Unified mega-scale fabric

We don’t build isolated clusters. We integrate our Ghostfish (TPU) and Blackwell (GPU) platforms with Virgo100 networking to create a new data center fabric linking 134,000 chips (TPU 8t) with up to 47 petabits/sec of non-blocking bi-sectional bandwidth in a single fabric and driving 4x the bandwidth per accelerator.

Efficiency at scale

Efficiency at scale

Our new hyper-dense designs house 2-4x more ML FLOPs in the same physical footprint. We utilize liquid-cooled infrastructure and advanced power distribution to achieve a 20% reduction in unit cost.

Thermal innovation

Thermal innovation

By utilizing proprietary liquid cooling capable of managing >100 kW/rack, we’ve bypassed the air-cooling limit, allowing us to pack chips closer together and reduce networking latency.

SimShip parity

SimShip parity

We maintain zero-day parity for the latest infrastructure between Gemini models and Google Cloud customers simultaneously.

“We’re engineering our way out of constraints. Vertical integration allows us to extract maximum intelligence from every precious watt, achieving a level of efficiency and workload density that legacy, fragmented infrastructures simply cannot match.”

Designing and deploying the next-generation Google Global Network

Designing and deploying the next-generation Google Global Network

To meet the scale, availability, and agility demands of cloud and AI workloads, Google developed a modular, vendor-agnostic, and physically sharded software-defined WAN. Unifying B2 and B4 to deliver enhanced network availability and faster failure recovery, it sets a foundation for a planet-scale modern WAN.

Decoupling intelligence from the grid

Making energy as modular and transportable as the chips themselves to remove power as a constraint.

Modular power velocity

Modular power velocity

By deploying modular, factory-produced power systems—including on-site solar and battery storage—we can stand up hundreds of megawatts or even gigawatts of capacity in months, not years.

Water-free cooling
